Designed in 1969, this sofa set that includes an armchair, a chaise longue and a two- or three-seater. It was a breakthrough design that was awarded the coveted Compasso d’Oro prize and hailed by design-minded individuals as an icon of midcentury modern comfort.
The clamp was created using a series of small steel plates with different diameters that were joined together to form a larger frame. This frame was then used to shape the sofa. The upholstery was placed over the frame and was attached to it with fabric. This was done to make sure that the upholstery would not move and cause the sofa to sag over time.
